It has been so nice to see everyone enjoying the NaturePlace as it continues to develop into a more mature nature area. As the native species fill in and the cover crops thin, it can look like a space for making play areas and exploring and some areas are being hurt by overuse.
We need your help in keeping all guests out of the plantings and on the paths. It can be really fun to make paths through the tall grasses and use the shaded areas under the lower trees, but we ask that all users of the NaturePlace stay on the paths and encourage others to do so.
The Welles Park Advisory Council has committed to maintaining this area in partnership with the Chicago Park District, and we hope not to spend our modest resources on more, visually un-appealing fences and other barriers.
Thanks for helping us make the NaturePlace even better!
